Sensitivity can be caused by many factors such as; cavities, fractured tooth, abrasion, abfraction, teeth whitening, and the list goes on and on.
You have small “pores” or dentinal tubules, which basically work as a tunnel from outside the tooth to inside the tooth. Patients with sensitivity usually have their dentin exposed from one of the factors mentioned in the beginning. For instance; when you bleach your teeth, you open these tubes wide open, as a result, you would normally have a lot of sensitivity right after.
Sensodyne on the other hand functions in the complete opposite manner, it works by blocking these tubes and therefore minimize your sensitivity.
